Increased sales of petroleum products

In the first quarter this year, sales of petroleum products increased by 5.9 per cent or 133 million litres. Sales of light heating oils increased considerably.

Sales of light heating oils increased by 32.8 per cent or 55 million litres in the first three months this year compared to the same period last year. Total sales ended at 224 million litres. A cold winter combined with high electricity prices can be decisive factors that contributed to the increased sales.

Sales of auto diesel increased by 9.7 per cent or 70 million litres and sales ended at 797 million litres in the first quarter this year. For the same period, sales of motor gasoline ended at 377 million litres; a decrease of 3.9 per cent or 15 million litres.

There were 23 delivery days in March, compared with 22 in March 2009.
