Decrease in sales of petroleum

Total sales of petroleum products in October amounted to 831 million litres. This is a decrease of 1.5 per cent, or 12 million litres, compared to October last year.

Sales of motor gasoline ended at 135 million litres in October, a decrease of 9.6 per cent, or 14.5 million litres, compared to October last year. There was also a small decrease in sales of auto diesel in the same period; total sales ended at 277 million litres, a small decrease of 0.2 per cent or approximately 56 000 litres. Sales of motor gasoline and auto diesel constituted 49.6 per cent of the total sales of petroleum products in October.

Other products

Sales of marine gas oil and diesel make up 19.6 per cent of total sales of petroleum products. In October, the sales of these products ended at 160 million litres - a 8.6 per cent increase.

In October this year, sales of jet fuel ended at 72 million litres. This is 15.2 million litres or 17.4 per cent less then October 2008.

There where 22 delivery days in October 2009, while there were 23 such days in October 2008.
