Decrease in sales of petroleum products

Total sales of petroleum products amounted to 780 million litres in July this year, a decrease of 5.3 per cent compared to the same month last year.

Sales of motor gasoline ended at 169 million litres in July this year, 9 million litres, or 5.1 per cent, less than July 2008.

For the same period sales of auto diesel decreased with 4 million litres or 1.4 per cent. The total sales amounted to 243 million litres. The dutiable part of the auto diesel sale ended at 194 million litres, an increase of 4.7 per cent.

Motor gasoline and auto diesel combined constituted for 52.9 per cent of the total sales of petroleum products in July.

Decrease in other products

In July this year sales of jet fuel ended at 74 million litres, a decrease of 9.1 per cent or about 7 million litres compared to July last year.

Total sales of light heating oils and heating and lighting and kerosene ended at 20 million litres, a decrease of half a million litres, or 2.3 per cent, compared to the same period last year.

Sales of marine gas oil and diesel makes out 20.1 per cent of total sales of petroleum products. In July the sales of these products ended at 157 million litres, a 1.3 per cent decrease.

There where 23 delivery days in July 2009, while there were 22 such days in July 2008.
