Increased sales of heating oil

Total sales of petroleum products came to 699 million liters in February 2009, a decrease of 5.9 per cent compared with February last year. Sales of most petroleum products decreased. The exception is sales of light heating oil and lighting kerosene which saw an increase.

Both deliveries of lighting kerosene and light heating oil increased in February this year compared to the same month in 2008. Sales of lighting kerosene ended at 9 million liters, while sales of light heating oil ended at 65 million liters, an increase by 8.4 and 45.4 per cent respectively.

Both sales of auto diesel and motor gasoline decreased in February. Total sales of motor gasoline ended at 127 million liters, a decrease of 7.1 per cent or 10 million liters compared to the same month last year. Sales of auto diesel decreased with 3.2 per cent or 8 million liters and ended at 235 million liters. Auto diesel and motor gasoline accounted for 51.8 per cent of total sales of petroleum products.

The sales of marine gas oil and diesel, which accounts for 19.7 per cent of total sales of petroleum products, had a minor increase by 0.1 per cent in February. Total sales ended at 138 million liters.

There were 20 delivery days in February, in February 2008 there where 21.
