Decreased sales of petroleum products in 2008

Total deliveries of petroleum products in Norway came to 9.4 billion litres in 2008, a decrease of 4.4 per cent, or 414 million litres compared with 2007.

Compared with 2007, sales of auto diesel increased by 6.6 per cent in 2008, while sales of motor gasoline decreased by 6.3 per cent. This means that the trend in recent years continues. Total sales of motor gasoline amounted to about 1.8 billion litres in 2008, while total sales of auto diesel came to about 3.2 billion litres.

Light heating oils decreased by 11.6 per cent, while heating and lighting kerosene decreased by 34.3 per cent. Total sales of jet fuel came to 763 million litres in 2008, which is 132 million litres less then last year.

December

Total sales in December 2008 came to 758 million litres; a decrease of 6.5 per cent compared with December 2007. Total sales of motor gasoline ended at 149 million litres; a small increase of 0.3 per cent compared to December 2007. Sales of auto diesel increased by 6.4 per cent or 16 million litres in December 2006 to 251 litres in December 2007.
