Large decrease in sales of petroleum products

November 2008 figures indicate a large decrease in sales of petroleum products. Sales ended at 753 million litres; 9.6 per cent less than November 2007. Sales decreased for all products except sales of auto diesel.

Sales of auto diesel increased by 6.2 per cent or 15 million litres for November this year compared to the same month last year. Total sales of motor gasoline decreased by 7.7 per cent or 11 million litres. Sales of motor gasoline and auto diesel together made up 53.1 per cent of the total sales of petroleum products.

Sales of light heating oils decreased by 3.6 per cent or 2 million litres in November, while sales of heating and lighting kerosene decreased by 25 per cent or 3 million litres. In November, total sales of jet fuel ended at 48 million litres; a large decrease of 38.6 per cent or 30 million litres compared to the same month last year.

There were 20 delivery days in November, and 22 in November last year.
