Increased sales of diesel

Total sales of petroleum products came to a total of 836 million litres in October 2008; a decrease of 5.5 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Total sales of motor gasoline ended at 150 million litres in October; a decrease of 6.7 per cent or 12 million litres. Sales of auto diesel increased by 0.2 per cent or approximately half a million litres for the same period. Sales of motor gasoline and auto diesel together made up 52.4 per cent of the total sales of petroleum products.

Sales of light heating oils decreased by forty five thousand litres in October, while sales of heating and lighting kerosene decreased by 1.6 million litres. In October, total sales of jet fuel ended at 75 million litres; a small decrease of 1.8 million litres, compared to the same period last year.

There were 23 delivery days in October, the same as in October last year.
