Reduced sales of petroleum products

Total sales of petroleum products came to 777 million litres in August 2008, a decrease of 13.2 per cent or 120 million litres compared with the same month last year.

Sales of auto diesel ended at 262 million litres in August, a decrease of 2.2 per cent or 6 million litres compared with August 2007. Auto diesel accounted for 34 per cent of total sales of petroleum products. From August 2007 to August 2008, sales of motor gasoline decreased by 10.7 per cent or 19 million litres.

In the same period, sales of marine gas oil and diesel where reduced by 25.4 per cent. Total sales ended at 126 million litres. Sales of jet fuel ended at 65 million litres, a decrease of 29.5 percent.

There were 21 delivery days in August this year. In August last year there were 23.
