Small change in sales of petroleum products

Total sales of petroleum products came to 800 million litres in July 2008, a slight decrease of 0.6 per cent or 5 million litres compared with July last year.

Sales of auto diesel ended at 254 million litres in July, an increase of 8.4 per cent or 20 million litres compared to July 2007. Auto diesel accounted for 32 per cent of total sales of petroleum products. Sales of motor gasoline decreased by 4.5 per cent or 9 million litres from July last year.

For the same period of time, sales of marine gas oil and diesel dropped by 7 per cent or 12 million litres, and total sales ended at 147 million litres. Sales of jet fuel ended at 66 million litres, a decrease by 16.2 percent or 13 million litres.
