More auto diesel, less motor gasoline

Total sales of petroleum products came to a total of 783 million litres in May 2008, a decrease of 1.2 per cent or 10 million litres. The overall decrease is caused by a decline in sales of motor gasoline.

In May this year sales of auto diesel ended at 271 million litres, an increase of 9.9 per cent compared to May 2007. For the same period there was a decrease in the sales of motor gasoline of 6.2 per cent, from 175 million litres sold in May 2007 and 164 million litres sold in May this year. Sale of motor gasoline and auto diesel makes out 55.6 per cent of the total sale of petroleum products.

Total sales of jet-fuel amounted to 59 million litres in May this year, a decrease of 19.9 per cent compared to May 2007. Sales of heating and lighting kerosene and sales of light heating oils decreased by 18.9 and 11.2 per cent respectively compared to May 2007.

There were 20 delivery days in May 2008, the same as in May 2007.
