Increased sales of petroleum products

Total sales of petroleum products came to 779 million litres in January 2007, an increase of 2.4 per cent compared with January last year. The largest increase was seen in sales of auto diesel.

Compared with January 2006, total sales of auto diesel increased by 25 million litres and ended at 228 million litres. Sales of auto diesel accounted for 29 per cent of total sales of petroleum products and came to 153 million litres, a slight decrease of 1.5 per cent, or 2 million litres.

Deliveries of lighting kerosene and light heating oil decreased by 20 and 4.9 per cent respectively. In January 2006 sales of these two products came to 78 million litres, compared with 72 million litres in January 2007.

There were 22 delivery days in January, compared with 21 in January 2006.
