Increased sales of petroleum products

Total sales of petroleum products increased by 2.2 per cent in October 2005 compared with October last year. The largest increase was recorded in sales of marine gas oil, sales of auto diesel also increased, while sales of motor gasoline and heating fuel decreased.

Total sales of petroleum products in Norway ended at 804 million litres, up 17 million from October last year. Sales of marine gas oil increased significantly, up 19 million litres or 14.9 per cent compared to October 2004. In the same period, deliveries of auto diesel increased by 14 million litres or 6.9 per cent, while sales of motor gasoline fell by 2.9 per cent or 5 million litres.

Total sales of heating products decreased in October compared with October last year, from 64 to 51 million litres. This corresponds to a reduction of 19.6per cent million litres.

There were 22 delivery days in October this year, compared with 21 in October 2004.
