Sales of petroleum products and liquid biofuels, August 2005, preliminary figures

Fuel

Sales of auto diesel increased by 7.4 per cent to 223 million litres in August, while sales of motor gasoline decreased by 3.2 per cent to 202 million litres. Sales of jet fuel ended at 81 million litres, up 13.7 per cent compared with August last year.

Heating products

Total sales of heating products came to 43 million litres in August. Sales of heating and lighting kerosene and light heating oils fell by 5.9 and 20.5 per cent respectively compared with last year. Sales of heating and lighting kerosene ended at 12 million litres, while light heating oils ended at 31 million litres. Sales of heavy fuel oils increased by 26.5 per cent, and total sales in August came to 61 million litres.

There were 23 delivery days in August this year, compared with 22 in August 2004.
