Large increase in sales of auto diesel

The total deliveries of petroleum products in Norway in 2004 came to 9.3 billion litres, a 0.4 decrease from 2003. The total sale of auto diesel increased by 8.3 per cent from 2003 to 2004, while the sale of light heating oils decreased by 23,4 per cent.

Compared with 2003 the sale of auto diesel had an increase of 8.3 per cent in 2004, while the sale of motor gasoline had a slight decrease. This means that we keep up with the trend from the latest years. Total sale of motor gasoline amounted to 2.2 billion litres in 2004, while the total sale of auto diesel came to 1.6 billion litres.

Heating and lighting kerosene and light heating oils decreased by 15.5 per cent and 23.4 per cent respectively. The volume is back on normal levels from being very high in the winter 2002/2003 when the electricity prices were high.

The total sale of jet fuel came to 772 litres in 2004, an increase of 15.1 per cent. The jet fuel volumes are then back on a normal level compared with the years 2002 and back.

December

The total sale of dutiable auto diesel in December 2004 increased by of 13.8 per cent, and came to a total of 145 million litres. This increase was counteracted by a decrease in the sale of light heating oils of 28.2 per cent. The total sale of petroleum products came to a slight increase of 0.6 per cent in December 2004, a total of 757 million litres.

There were 21 delivery days in December 2004, the same as in December 2003.
