Total deliveries declined slightly

The deliveries of petroleum products totalled 790 million litres in August, a 2.1 per cent decrease compared with August last year. Reduced sales of motor gasoline and jet fuel contributed the most to the decrease.

In August the deliveries of motor gasoline came to 200 million litres, a 4.9 per cent decrease compared with August last year. The deliveries of jet fuel decreased to 51 million litres or 41.2 per cent in the same period.

Heating products

In August the deliveries of light heating oil came to 42 million litres and the deliveries of heating and lighting kerosene to 13 million litres. This is an increase of 52.5 and 40.4 per cent respectively compared with August last year. The sales of heavy fuel oil also showed a substantial increase.

Past 12 months

The total deliveries of petroleum products came to 9 463 million litres, a 4.5 increase compared with the previous 12-month period. The heating products contributed the most to the increase. The deliveries of heating and lighting kerosene increased by 62.1 and 28.4 per cent respectively.

There were 21 delivery days in August 2003 against 22 in August 2002.
