Total stocks declined

Total stocks were somewhat lower in the first quarter 2003 than in the first quarter last year. This was due to less stocks of finished goods. Historically however - unfinished goods are at a relatively high level.

Stock volume. Changes in one year

Recorded figures for the first quarter of 2003 show that total stocks were approximately 5 per cent lower - measured in current prices - than in the corresponding quarter last year. This was mainly caused by a considerable decline of finished goods in the industry oil platforms and modules. Unfinished goods were lower than in the fourth quarter of 2002, but nevertheless noticeable higher than in the corresponding quarter last year.
