Electricity prices, Q3 2008

For the manufacturing industry except energy-intensive manufacturing and the pulp and paper industry, the average price of electricity was 29.1 øre/kWh. For energy-intensive manufacturing and the pulp and paper industry, the average price of electric energy was 20.0 øre/kWh excluding taxes and grid rent.

Higher prices for households

The average price of electric energy for households was 38.3 øre/kWh, excluding grid rent and taxes, in the middle of the third quarter of 2008. The grid rent was 24.3 øre/kWh and taxes 26.2 øre/kWh. The total electricity price, taxes and grid rent included, was 88.7 øre/kWh. This is 43.6 per cent higher than 12 months earlier.

The measuring period for the third quarter of 2008 was week 32. The average elspot price for the entire quarter was a few øre higher than the elspot price in the measuring period.
