Moderate turnover growth in construction

Preliminary figures for 2010 show that the turnover for enterprises within building and construction amounted to NOK 315 billion. This is an increase of 2.0 per cent compared to 2009.

A total of 193 145 persons were employed within this area, which is an increase of 0.9 per cent compared to 2009. The number of enterprises was approximately the same as in the previous year.

Construction of buildings

The largest division, construction of buildings, had a turnover of NOK 145 billion, which is equal to 46 per cent of the total industry. Turnover increased by 2.7 per cent from 2009 to 2010. The number of persons employed was approximately the same.

Specialised construction activities

The enterprises within specialised construction activities had a turnover of NOK 142 billion, which is an increase of 2.8 per cent compared to 2009. The number of persons employed increased by 0.6 per cent, to a total of 112 579.

The enterprises within civil engineering had a total turnover of NOK 27 billion; a decrease of

per cent compared to 2009.

Preliminary figures

Preliminary figures are only published on enterprise level. Only figures for the number of enterprises, employees and turnover on a 3-digit level are published. Final figures will be published in May 2012.
