Yearly survey

These results are based on data reported electronically by the municipalities through the KOSTRA (Municipal-State-Reporting) system. Every municipality reports annual fees for the following technical services; water, waste water, waste collection and chimney sweeping/inspection.

The results in this article are based on data for almost all of Norway’s 430 municipalities.

In order to make the figures comparable the fees are reported for a standard sized house (120 m 2 ).

Fees for water and waste water are either fixed or charged according to the actual amount used (175 m 3 ). For waste services, the most common subscription is reported, and chimney sweeping fees are calculated as a yearly fee.

All figures are weighted averages, based on the total fee income reported through KOSTRA. The figures in this article are inclusive of VAT, whereas in KOSTRA they are reported without VAT.
