Increasing prices of holiday properties

The aggregate value of transferred properties increased by NOK 11.7 billon from the third quarter of 2006 to the third quarter of 2007. The average price per transferred holiday property increased by 23 per cent.

The aggregate value of properties transferred during the third quarter of 2006 amounted to NOK 73.4 billion. This is an increase of 18 per cent compared with the corresponding quarter in 2006. The aggregate value increased in all counties.

47 400 registered transfers of real property were registered in the third quarter, an increase of 200 compared with the corresponding quarter last year.

High value of holiday properties

A total of 2 800 holiday properties were sold on the free market in the third quarter of 2007, an increase of 3 per cent from the third quarter of 2006. The average price per transfer was NOK 1.2 million, 23 per cent higher than in the same quarter last year. Transfers of leases are not included in these figures. The average price per transfer was highest in Vestfold county with NOK 3.4 million.

Increasing value per dwelling transfer

In the third quarter of 2007, a total of 20 700 dwellings were sold on the free market, a small decrease compared with the same quarter in 2006. The aggregate value of the dwellings transferred during the third quarter of 2007 amounted to NOK 47.4 billion. The average price per transfer was NOK 2.3 million, representing a 17 per cent increase from the corresponding period last year. Compared with the previous quarter there was a slight increase in the average price per transfer.
