Marked increase for holiday properties

The average price of holiday homes sold on the free market rose by 29 per cent to NOK 1 150 000 from the first quarter of 2006 to the first quarter of 2007.

In total, 41 000 transfers of real property were registered in the first quarter of 2007, an increase of 2 per cent compared with the same quarter last year. The aggregated value of the transferred properties was NOK 55.4 billion, an 11 per cent increase compared with the same period last year.

Holiday homes at increasing prices

2 100 holiday homes were sold in the first quarter of this year. Compared with the first quarter of 2006 this is an increase of 17 per cent. The average price was NOK 1 150 000, an increase of 29 per cent compared with the same period last year. Whereas almost 40 per cent of the holiday homes had a transfer price above NOK 1 million, a corresponding share cost less than NOK 400 000. The county of Buskerud had the highest average price with NOK 1.8 million. Transfers of leases are not included in these figures.

Higher prices per dwelling transfer

In total, 15 200 dwelling properties with building were sold on the free market in the first quarter. This is more or less the same as in the first quarter of 2006. The average price for such properties was NOK 2.1 million, an increase of 12 per cent compared with the corresponding quarter last year. The average price per dwelling transfer in the first quarter of 2007 was highest in the counties of Oslo and Troms with NOK 3.4 million and NOK 2.5 million respectively.
