High prices for holiday properties

The aggregate value of transferred properties increased by NOK 7 billon compared with the third quarter last year. The number of transfers rose slightly. Average price per transferred holiday property was above NOK 1 million.

The aggregate value of the properties transferred during the third quarter of 2006 amounted to NOK 62 billion. This is an increase of 12.5 per cent compared with the corresponding quarter in 2005. The value increased in all counties except Finnmark.

The number of registered transfers of real property in the third quarter of 2006 was 47 200, an increase by 1 per cent compared with the same quarter in 2005.

For most types of properties the number of transfers declined in the third quarter of 2006 compared with the same quarter last year. Transferred properties without building decreased most.

High value of holiday properties

A total of 2 700 holiday properties were sold on the free market in the third quarter of 2006. The average price per transfer of holiday properties was a little above NOK 1 000 000 in this year’s third quarter, 19 per cent more than in the same quarter last year. Compared with the third quarter 2001, the average price per transfer of holiday properties is twice as high. Transfer of lease is not included in these figures.

Higher price per dwelling transfer

In the third quarter of 2006, a total of 21 300 dwellings were sold on the free market, a small increase compared with the same quarter in 2005. The aggregate value of the dwellings transferred during the third quarter of 2006 amounted to NOK 41.5 billion. The average price per transfer was NOK 1.9 million, representing an 8 per cent increase from the corresponding period last year. The average price rose in most counties. Compared with the previous quarter, the average price is almost the same.
