Decline in property sales

The number of real property transfers has decreased during the first six months in 2003 - 2 300 less than in the first half of 2002. The value of the transfers decreased by NOK 2.8 billion.

Notified transfers of real property. 1997-2003. 1st half year

The number of transfers of real property came to 71 800 during the first half of 2003, a decline of 3 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2002. The number - has declined in most counties.

The value of the transferred properties amounted to NOK 64 billion, a decline of 4 per cent compared with the first half 2002. The decrease came in the second quarter of 2003.

Decrease of all types of properties

The number of transfers of all kinds of properties decreased during the first six months of 2003 compared with the same period last year. The transfer of industrial properties and of properties for commercial and office purposes declined the most, 10 and 9 per cent, respectively. Dwelling properties decreased by one per cent, mostly due to a reduction in transfer of dwelling sites.

Slight change in price per transfer of dwellings

A number of 16 200 built-up dwelling properties were transferred through voluntary sale in the second quarter of 2003. The value of these properties amounted to NOK 24.1 billion, an average price per transfer of NOK 1.5 million. Oslo and Akershus counties had the highest average price, NOK 2.2 and 1.9 million, respectively. Compared with the second quarter of 2002, the average price rose by 0.5 per cent, but compared with the first quarter of 2003 the price decreased by 1 per cent.

Holyday property prices down 3 per cent

The average price per transfer in voluntary sales of built-up holyday properties came to NOK 661 000 in the second quarter of 2003, a 3 per cent decrease compared with the corresponding period last year, but a 5 per cent increase compared with the previous quarter.
