Increased transfers of dwelling properties

In the first three quarters of 2001 there were registered 4 900 more sales of real property than in the same period last year. The total vale of the transferred properties rose by NOK 7.1 billion.

A total of 113 000 transfers of real property were notified in the 1. - 3. quarter of 2001. This is an increase of 4 per cent compared with the same period last year.

The total value of the transferred properties amounted to NOK 93.2 billion in the first three quarters of 2001. This is 8 per cent more than in the same period last year.

More transfers of dwelling properties

A total of 76 700 dwelling properties were transferred during the first three quarters of 2001. This is an increase of 6 per cent compared with the same period last year. Transfers of holiday properties have been stable and properties for agricultural/forestry/fishery, commercial/office properties and industrial properties had a decline of 3, 5 and 5 per cent, respectively.

Higher prices per transfer of dwelling properties

In the third quarter of 2001 a number of 17 900 built-up dwelling properties were sold voluntarily. The total value of these transfers was NOK 24.8 billion. The average price per transfer of these dwellings was NOK 1.4 million, and this is NOK 94 100 more than in the same quarter last year and NOK 38 000 more than the second quarter 2001.

More holiday properties sold in the late summer

Normally the transfer of holiday properties is highest in the third quarter. In 2001 a total of 2 100 holiday properties were sold from July to September. This is 612 more than in the second quarter and more than twice as much as in the first quarter. The average price per transfer in the third quarter was NOK 568 000. This is an increase of 5 per cent compared with the third quarter last year, but a decline of 10 per cent compared with the second quarter this year.
