Increase in transfer of real property

The number of transfers of real property increased by 3000 in the first six months of 2001 compared with the same period last year. The total vale of the transferred properties rose by NOK 4.6 billion.

A total of 70 700 transfers of real property were notified in the first half of 2001. This is an increase of 4 per cent on the number of transfers in the first half of 2000.

The total value of the transferred properties amounted to NOK 56.6 billion in the first half year, which is an increase of 9 per cent to the same period last year.

More transfers of dwelling- and holiday properties

A total of 47 400 dwelling properties and 11 000 holiday properties were transferred during the first half year 2001.This is a growth of 6 per cent and 1 per cent, respectively, compared with the first half of 2000.

Properties for agricultural/forestry/fishery purposes, commercial/office properties and industrial properties had a decline of 5, 4 and 2 per cent, respectively.

Higher value of dwellings and holiday houses

In the second quarter of 2001 a number of 13 900 built-up dwelling properties were sold voluntarily. The average price per transfer for these dwellings was NOK 1.4 million. This is 7 per cent more than in the same quarter last year and 1 per cent more than in the first quarter this year.

The average price per transfer of built-up holiday properties was NOK 600 000 in the second quarter. Compared with the second quarter last year, this is an increase of 20 per cent.
