Industrial buildings up

During January-March 1 085 700 square metre of utility floor space for industrial buildings was started. This is an increase of 15.6 per cent compared to the corresponding period last year.

Most utility floor space for industrial buildings was stared for wholesale and retail trade with a total of 290 900 square metres. This is a 19.9 per cent growth compared to the three first months of 2006.

During the period a total of 2 453 200 square metres of utility floor space was started. Most floor space was started in the county Rogaland with 336 900 square metres, an increase of 21.8 per cent compared to January-March in 2006.

The number of dwelling-starts is at the same level as last year, with 8 268 dwellings started during the first three months of 2007. A total of 338 700 square metres of utility floor space for holiday houses, garages etc was started during the three first months of the year, an increase of 8.2 per cent compared to 2006.
