14 000 new dwellings
The number of new dwelling starts in Norway came to 14 000 by the end of the first half of 2005 - almost unchanged compared with the same period in 2004.
1 715 100 square meters of utility floor space were started for dwelling purposes during the first half of 2005 - an increase of 6.1 per cent compared to the corresponding period last year.
For other buildings than dwellings, 1 290 100 square meters floor space for industrial buildings and 550 200 square meters floor space for holiday properties and private garages were started in the first half of 2005. For industrial buildings the number of square metres started is unchanged and for holiday properties and private garages it is recorded an increase of 9.6 per cent.
