3 500 new flats in Oslo

About 3 500 dwellings in blocks were started In Oslo during the nine first months of 2004. About 1 400 of these are registered started in the third quarter of 2004.

840 new dwellings in blocks are registered started in Trondheim so far this year. Totally for the whole country 9 800 new dwellings in blocks are registered started during the first nine months of 2004, almost 60 per cent more compared with the same period the previous year.

Compared with the same period in 2003 it is recorded an increase of 23 per cent in the number of started dwellings in new houses with two dwellings and row houses. The number of detached dwellings started is 5 per cent above the level in 2003.

Record-high building of Holiday houses

308 000 square meters of holiday houses were started during the first nine months of 2004, 26 per cent more compared with the same period last year and 4 per cent above the record high level in 2002.

Less office and business buildings

The registered number of square meters in office and business buildings stays at the same low level as in 2003. So far this year it is started almost 400 000 square meters, almost 40 per cent less than in 2000 and 2001.
