20 600 new dwellings
So far in 2004 the number of registered new dwelling starts is 20 621. This is 4 647, or 29.1 per cent, higher than in the same period last year.
The total utility floor space for these dwellings is 2.4 million square meters, an increase of 16.9 per cent compared with the same period in 2003.
In September, 230 700 square meters of non-residential buildings were started, a decrease of 30.1 per cent compared with the same month last year. So far in 2004, 2.7 million square metres of non-residential buildings have been started, 14.5 per cent higher than in the same period last year.
