Decrease for non-residential buildings

During the first four months this year 1 015 000 square metres of utility floor space were started in non-residential buildings, 19 per cent less than during the corresponding period last year.

Utility floor space started for wholesale and retail trade etc. decreased by 61 per cent from the first four months last year to the same period this year. Utility floor space started for health and social work

increased by 70 per cent during this period.

Less dwelling starts

During the period January to April this year 7 134 dwelling were started, 6 per cent less than during the corresponding period last year.

The strongest decrease was in Hordaland and Hedmark with 344 and 195 less dwellings started, respectively. In Nordland, Rogaland and Vest-Agder there were 263, 118 and 114 more dwellings started.

Registration of non-residential buildings in Oslo is not complete, which means that the figures for Oslo are lower than the actual situation. In April this also concerns residential buildings
