No changes in dwelling starts

5 914 dwellings were started during the first three months this year. This is about the same level as the building of dwellings the corresponding period last year.

The strongest decrease was in Hordaland and Hedmark with 273 and 157 less dwellings started, respectively. In Nordland and Troms there were 197 and 150 more dwellings started during the first three months of 2003.

Decrease for non-residential buildings

848 400 square metres of utility floor space are started in non-residential buildings in the first three months of 2003, 16 per cent less than in the first three months of 2002.

In Nordland and Akershus utility floor space started in non-residential buildings decreased by 61 and 55 per cent, respectively.

Registration of non-residential buildings in Oslo is not complete, which means that the figures for Oslo are lower than the actual situation.
