Less dwelling starts

12 035 dwellings were started during the period January to July 2002, a decrease of 15 per cent.

The counties of Sogn og Fjordane, Telemark and Nordland had the strongest decrease, down 50, 43 and 40 per cent respectively. The number of dwelling starts increased the most in Nord-Trøndelag and Hedmark, 34 and 30 per cent respectively.

Utility floor space started in non-residential buildings during the first seven months this year decreased by 5 per cent compared with the corresponding period last year. Utility floor space started for Transport, storage and communication decreased the most by 51 per cent.
