Lower increase in dwelling starts

After a considerable increase in dwellings starts in the first half of 2001, the total increase of this year is down to 11 per cent.

Number of dwellings started. Unadjusted and trend. January 1990-September 2001

The first ten months this year 21 124 dwellings were started, 11 per cent more than last year. But the last few months the increase has stopped. In September and October 8 per cent less dwelling starts were registered compared with the same months last year.

Oslo still has a strong increase in building starts. In the period from January to October almost two times more dwellings were started, compared with the same period last year.

Insufficient registration of non-residential buildings in Oslo

Started non-residential utility floor space. Unadjusted and trend. January 1990-September 2001

The registration of non-residential buildings in Oslo is incomplete this year. Due to this the figures of permits, starts and completion for non-residential buildings the first ten months of this year are too low.
