Minor changes in building and construction industry

The production index for construction shows almost unchanged activity between the 2nd and 3rd quarters, with a growth of 0.4 per cent.

Activity in the civil engineering industry continued to fall, and declined by 2.1 per cent from the previous quarter, according to seasonally-adjusted figures. Production in the building industry had a small rise compared to the previous quarter, by 1.5 per cent.

The total production in the building and construction industry rose by 1.5 per cent between the 3rd quarter of 2015 and the 3rd quarter of 2016. In the building industry, activity increased by 4.6 per cent, while the civil engineering industry had a fall in production of 7.7 per cent.
