Increasing activity in civil engineering works

Activity in civil engineering works increased by 8.1 per cent from the 4th quarter of 2014 to the 4th quarter of 2015. Building activity had an increase of 0.6 per cent in the same period.

The total production in the building and construction industry was 2.2 per cent higher in the 4th quarter of 2015 than in the corresponding quarter of 2014. Looking at the year as a whole, there has been an increase of 1.5 per cent.

From the 3rd to the 4th quarter of 2015, activity rose by 0.6 per cent when adjusted for seasonal changes. This is due to a minor decrease in the building activity, while the civil engineering works had a small increase.

It has been a similar trend in construction, new orders statistics, in 2015.
