Growth in construction industry

The production in the construction industry increased by 1.8 per cent from the first quarter of 2011 to the second quarter of 2011, according to seasonally-adjusted figures. Growth in civil engineering works contributed to the increase this quarter.

The building activity was stable from the first quarter of 2011 to the second quarter of 2011, with a decrease of 0.1 per cent, according to seasonally-adjusted figures. Civil engineering works increased by 4.8 per cent in the same period. The total production in the construction industry thereby increased in this period.

The total production in the construction industry has increased by 2.1 per cent from the second quarter of last year to the second quarter this year, according to working day adjusted figures. The building activity has been stable during the last year. The production in civil engineering works has however increased by 11.3 per cent when compared with the same quarter last year.
