Moderate increase in construction activity

The production in construction industry increased by 1.4 per cent from the 2nd to the 3rd quarter of 2010, according to the seasonally-adjusted figures.

Errors in index figures (13.05.2011)

In a quality review of the production index, construction, errors in the calculation were revealed. As a consequence, the index figures dating back to the first quarter of 2008 have been revised. Text and figures in this article are not revised.

This is the second consecutive quarter with a small increase in the total construction activity, taking into account the normal seasonal fluctuations. Civil engineering works rose by 6.2 per cent from the 2n d to the 3r d quarter of 2010, after a small decline in the previous quarter. Compared with the same period last year, seasonally-adjusted figures show a growth in civil engineering output of 2.9 per cent.

The building activity increased by 1.0 per cent from the 2n d to the 3r d quarter of 2010 and is 0.3 per cent lower than in the same quarter last year, according to the seasonally-adjusted figures.
