Continued increase in construction

The construction activity in Norway increased by 8.7 per cent in the third quarter 2004 compared with the same quarter in 2003. The increase is large both in production of buildings and in civil engineering works.

The strongest increase is recorded in civil engineering works, where the production is 10.2 per cent higher in the third quarter 2004 compared with the third quarter last year. The production of new buildings rose by 8.4 per cent from the third quarter of 2003 to the third quarter this year. In renovation of buildings the corresponding growth is 8.0 per cent.
