Stable construction activity

The production index for building activity was at the same level for 3 r d quarter this year as 3r d quarter the previous year. The total production in the construction industry increased by 1.8 per cent in the same period.

There has been an increase by 0.3 per cent in activities connected to renovation of buildings from the third quarter last year to third quarter this year. The production index for new buildings has decreased by 0.5 per cent.

The production index for civil engineering works rose by 9.1 per cent from 3 r d quarter last year to 3 r d quarter this year. This is because the figures for Mesta have been added in the base for computation as from 1s t quarter 2003.
