Increase in the civil engineering sector

Total production in the construction industry rose by 3.4 per cent from the 2nd quarter last year to the 2nd quarter this year. The activity in the civil engineering sector rose by 11.5 per cent.

From the 2n d quarter of 2001 to the 2n d quarter of 2002 renovation activity increased by 6.1 per cent. Production of new buildings decreased by 1.8 per cent during the same period. In total the building activity rose by 1.8 per cent.
