Decline in specialised construction activities

The turnover in the construction industry was NOK 78.5 billion in the 5th period of 2015, corresponding to an increase of 1.1 per cent compared with the same period in 2014. Local kind-of-activity units within specialised construction activities had a decline of 0.7 per cent in the same period.

The division specialised construction activities accounts for about 47 per cent of the total turnover in construction. In the 5th period, the turnover was NOK 37.0 billion; a decrease of NOK 273 million compared with the corresponding period in 2014. Among the subclasses contributing to the decline are site preparation with a decline of 3.1 per cent and electrical installation with a decline of 2.6 per cent. 

Highest growth in civil engineering

Local kind-of-activity units with activity in civil engineering had an increase in turnover of 4.9 per cent from the 5th period in 2014 to the 5th period in 2015, and had a turnover of NOK 11.3 billion. 

The total turnover among the local kind-of-activity units in construction of buildings was NOK 30.2 billion in the 5th period of 2015. This corresponds to an increase of 2.2 per cent compared to the 5th period of 2014. 

The largest decline in Rogaland

At regional level, the local kind-of-activity units in Agder and Rogaland had the largest decline in turnover, with a decrease of 6.2 per cent in the 5th period of 2015 compared to the same period in 2014. The local kind-of-activity units in Rogaland accounted for the largest decrease with a reduction of 9.0 per cent. Local kind-of-activity units in Northern Norway had the strongest growth, with an increase of 7.4 per cent from the 5th period of 2014 to the 5th period of 2015.
