Turnover growth in construction industry

Turnover in the construction industry increased by NOK 1.2 billion or 4.1 per cent in the period September - October 2003 compared with the corresponding period in 2002.

From 1 January 2003, the state road construction activity is sorted out as a state-owned enterprise called Mesta Ltd., and this turnover is included in our figures from 2003. The total construction turnover for the 5t h period (September and October) was NOK 30 billion.

All turnovers in this connection exclude VAT.

Turnover growth the ten first months

In the period January to October 2003 the turnover of constructions companies went up by 4.5 per cent compared with the same period in 2002. Mesta Ltd is established in the group "building of complete constructions or parts thereof; civil engineering", and this group increased by f 8.2 per cent. The "renting of construction or demolition equipment with operator" group declined 10.4 per cent in turnover in the same period.

County

Mesta Ltd is localized in Nordland, Akershus and Hordaland. In these counties, the turnover for the first ten months of 2003 went up by 26.0, 23.1 and 9.6 per cent respectively compared with the same period the year before. Turnover of construction companies in Østfold and Vestfold decreased by 7.3 and 5.9 per cent in this period.
