Increasing inflow of housing projects continues

The inflow of new housing projects was 48 per cent higher in the 1st quarter of 2017 compared to the previous year. The growth was substantial both in new housing projects and the renovation of residential buildings.

The high inflow at the end of 2016 continued at the beginning of 2017. The total inflow in building and construction increased by 28 per cent compared to the 1st quarter of 2016, in current value. While the new orders of residential building increased by 36 per cent, the value of new civil engineering projects grew by 15 per cent.

The stock of orders in building and construction was 13 per cent higher in the 1st quarter of 2017 than the previous year, measured in current value. The order reserves in residential buildings increased by 35 per cent, while commercial buildings had a more moderate increase of 4 per cent.

Compared to the previous quarter, the stock of orders in building and construction grew by 8 per cent.
