Average monthly earnings up NOK 1 300 in transport and storage

Full-time employees in transport and storage had average monthly earnings of NOK 41 800 as per 1 October 2014, excluding overtime pay. This was a year-on-year increase of NOK 1 300 or 3.2 per cent.

The section consists of various divisions, such as land transport, water transport, air transport, warehousing and support activities for transportation, and postal and courier activities. Among the divisions, the highest earnings are found in air transport, at NOK 56 500, while the lowest are found in land transport, at NOK 35 400.

The statistics are based on information from a sample of transport and storage enterprises covering a total of 67 613 full-time employees and 18 070 part-time employees. The total number of employees that forms the basis for weighting is 133 900 in transport and storage, according to the Norwegian Central Register of Enterprises and Establishments.
