The number of employees within retail trade, repair of personal and household goods increased by 4 880 from 2005 to 2006. This is equivalent to a rise of 2.6 per cent.

The number of persons employed within retail trade, repair of personal and household goods was 194 444 in 2006. The number of enterprises was 155 less than in 2005, but the turnover rose by NOK 16.4 billion or 5.7 per cent from 2005 to 2006.

NOK 641.5 billion in agency and wholesale trade

The enterprises in agency and wholesale trade, exclusive of motor vehicles and motorcycles had a turnover of NOK 641.5 billion in 2006. The turnover increased by NOK 47.3 billion or 8.0 per cent from 2005 to 2006. The total number of people employed was 106 348 people in 2006, 2 391 more than in 2005. This is equivalent to a rise of 2.3 per cent. The number of enterprises decreased by 143 or 0,8 per cent.

Growth for motor vehicles and petrol

The enterprises within sale and maintenance of motor vehicles and automotive fuel had a turnover of almost NOK 184 billion in 2006. The total enterprises was 9 053 and the total number of employees was 58 028. This is an increase of NOK 13.1 billion, 51 enterprises and 1 442 employees, respectively.
