Decline in alcohol sales

Sales of spirits, wine and beer decreased by 2.1, 0.2 and 1.2 per cent respectively in the 4th quarter of 2014 compared with the same period in 2013. This represents a decrease of about 80 000 litres of spirits, 44 000 litres of wine and 718 000 litres of beer.

Registered turnover in the 4th quarter of 2014 was 3.7 million litres of spirits, 21.5 million litres of wine, 58.9 million litres of beer and 2.8 million litres of alcopops.

Registered turnover in Norway in 2014 was 6.06 litres of pure alcohol per capita. This is a decline of 0.15 litres of pure alcohol per capita compared to 2013.

Total registered turnover of pure alcohol was 25.3 million litres in 2014. This breaks down into 10.9 million litres of beer, 9.4 million litres of wine, 4.4 million litres of spirits and 0.6 million litres of alcopops.
