More wine - less beer

The recorded turnover of wine was 1.5 million liters higher in the second quarter of 2005 than in the second quarter of 2004. In the second quarter of 2005 the registered turnover of wine was 15.8 million liters.

The figures are calculated based on recorded imports and figures reported to the Directorate of Customs and Excise (TAD) by businesses that pay tax on alcohol sales. The figures do not include Norwegian citizens' purchase of alcohol abroad.

We drank less beer

Registered turnover of beer was 3.3 per cent or 2.3 million litres less in the second quarter of 2005 compared to the same period 2004. Registered turnover of spirits was 9.5 per cent higher in this period. The turnover of Alco pops increased by 6.2 per cent from the second quarter 2004 to the corresponding period 2005.
