We drank less beer

The registered turnover of beer was 864 000 litres lower in Q1 2005 than in Q1 2004. In Q1 2005 the registered turnover of beer was 51.7 million litres.

The figures are calculated based on registered imports and figures reported to the Directorate of Customs and Excise (TAD) by businesses that pay tax on alcohol sales. The figures do not include Norwegian citizens' purchase of alcohol abroad.

Small changes of wine and spirits

Registered turnover of wine were at the same level as in Q1 2004. Turnover of spirit were lower, but rose by 2.9 per cent, or 71 thousand litres in Q1 2005 compared to the same period 2004.

In Q1 2005 the registered turnover of alcopops was 245 000 litres higher than in 2004 - an increase of 16.6 per cent.
