Decrease in petroleum tax revenues

By the end of June this year, tax payments have decreased by 3.3 per cent compared to the same time last year. A decrease in petroleum tax revenues is the reason for this reduction.

From January until June this year, a total of NOK 458.4 billion has been paid in taxes in Norway. This is a reduction of NOK 15.7 billion compared to the first six months of last year. Most of the taxes were paid through the advance tax arrangement, with NOK 297 billion; an increase of 2.5 per cent compared to the same period last year. NOK 94.5 billion of this sum is petroleum tax revenues, which is a fall of 20.5 per cent from January to June last year.

Last instalment for the income year 2013 from the oil-producing sector

Six times a year, the oil-producing sector pays tax on income. The first instalment is in August, and the last instalment is in June. The first three instalments are due in the income year, while the last three instalments are due in the tax year. Estimated instalments for 2013 were reduced by 23 per cent, at about NOK 56 billion. The last instalment for the income year 2013 was due in June, and it shows a decrease in the tax payments from the oil-producing sector of 24.7 per cent, or NOK 58.1 billion.
