NOK 45 billion before tax

Listed enterprises had NOK 45 billion in operating result before tax in the third quarter of 2009, an increase from NOK 31 billion in the second quarter of 2009. The amount of profit did not change from the third quarter of 2008 to the third quarter of 2009.

The operating margin rose from 11.0 per cent in the second quarter of 2009 to 15.5 per cent in the third quarter. The operating margin was 12.1 per cent in the third quarter last year.

Of the 145 companies in the statistics, 39 per cent suffered before tax losses. The corresponding figure for the third quarter of 2008 was 35 per cent.
